Dahlia ‘Advance’ is a stunning dinner plate variety known for its massive double blooms, which can reach up to 30 cm (10-12 inches) across. The lush salmon-pink petals gradually fade to creamy yellow at the tips, creating a soft pastel display that contrasts beautifully with the rich green foliage. Blooming from midsummer until the first frost, ‘Advance’ is an excellent choice for borders, garden beds, and as cut flowers, thanks to its thick stems that can support the large blooms. While hardy to the winter temperatures of coastal BC, these dahlias need protection from winter wet conditions. They should be planted in free-draining soil, in pots that can be moved and protected, or lifted and stored in a cool, dry, frost-free location. Additionally, ‘Advance’ is moderately deer resistant.

Dahlias should be planted after the risk of frost has passed and will continue to bloom from early summer until mid-autumn. For optimal growth and flowering, choose a sunny spot to plant the tubers, as Dahlias thrive in full sun.
