We ship using NZ Post overnight courier, Monday to Thursday. We don’t ship on Fridays, no sense paying for overnight courier that won’t be delivered on Saturday or worse be spending the weekend in a warehouse.

Final sale for the season is now on, most varieties have very limited stock available. All our tubers have small shoots or eyes now.

Most varieties are limited to one per person, but a few have enough stock for you to add more — you’ll see the option when it’s available.

Sorry for this late update.

1. All pre-sale orders were shipped by Wednesday 22 October, 2025, except for a few that included Hamari Rose. These will be supplied as rooted cuttings instead of tubers.

Update on the Hamari Rose Cuttings – We’ll be transplanting the Hamari Rose cuttings into small pots soon, and they’re expected to be ready for shipping in about two weeks’ time.

Thank you for your patience and understanding — we truly appreciate everyone who ordered this beautiful variety.

2. The next tuber sale

We’re busy checking over our tubers and doing a full stock take at the moment. We won’t be announcing a set date or time for the next sale this year — sudden traffic can sometimes overload our web servers, and we’d like things to run smoothly for everyone.

The next sale will be live in a day or two, so keep an eye on the website!
When you’re ready to shop, please double-check that you’ve manually selected the correct shipping option at checkout — it helps us make sure your order goes out without any hiccups.

We’ve packed and supplied Orders in batches by Order number.
Batch 50##, 51##, 52##, 53##, and Batch 54## till order 5415 have now been shipped out.
If your order number is 5415 or lower, then you should have received an email with an NZ Post tracking number. If you haven’t seen this email please check your Spam folder just in case it has landed there or do a search in your email folder. Please contact us if you still can’t find it dahliasnz@gmail.com

We have had a lot of rain while we prepped and supplied these orders and as our tubers are stocked in the garage, it has been constantly under high humidity spells. This is not good for dahlia tubers and we are doing a stock take now to check and confirm we have enough viable tubers to send out for the remaining orders. If we find some tubers that do not meet out shipping standards we will contact you via mobile SMS or email on how you’d like to proceed – Options as advised earlier are swap, upgrade or refund. Sorry about any whose orders get affected.

A small number of varieties haven’t stored as well as we had hoped. If your order is affected, we’ll reach out to you directly to go over the options—replacement, refund, or rooted cuttings. While we still have some stock of these varieties, it’s not enough to cover every order, so we’ll be contacting customers individually with more details.

As a gesture of goodwill, affected customers will also receive special access to a few exclusive varieties that haven’t yet been released on our website.

Substitute Options

  • If a variety you ordered is unavailable, you may select a substitute from the list below of equal value. Please note that stock is limited, and we will update the list as varieties run out.
  • You’re welcome to upgrade to a higher-value variety by paying the difference.
  • Alternatively, you can choose a lower-value variety and receive either a refund for the difference or a bonus mystery tuber.

We won’t announce an exact date and time, as that tends to cause overwhelming spikes better known as chaos on our website, but we’ll try to keep you updated.

🌟 It’s Official – Dahlia Season is On! 🌟

We’ve started packing orders and our first batch for 2025 will be heading out on Monday, 6th October! For those of you joining us for the first time, here’s a little peek into how we send your tubers safely to their new home.

A little update and some important news about both pre-sale orders and the upcoming tuber sale.

1. Pre-sale orders & shipping

As outlined in our pre-sale terms and conditions (clause 1), shipping will begin in early spring—late September through early October.

We time shipping carefully: once the weather starts to warm, tubers begin to sprout (“eye up”). Sending them at this stage ensures they arrive ready to plant and avoids problems that can occur if they are exposed to cold conditions during transit. If parcels are delayed in freezing weather, the eyes can be damaged or the tuber may stall, thinking it’s still winter. In rare cases this can affect growth for the whole season, so we take this precaution to give your tubers the best possible start.

A small number of varieties (around 5 out of over 200) have not stored as well as we hoped. For those affected, we’ll be in touch to discuss options—replacement, refund, or rooted cuttings. While we do have limited stock of these varieties, there isn’t enough for every order. We’re also working with our grower network to secure more, and should have a clearer picture within the next two weeks.

As a gesture of goodwill, affected customers will also be offered access to a few exclusive varieties not yet listed on our website. We’ll contact these customers when we start supplying on order basis with more details. Our aim remains to stick to the original shipping timeline.

2. The next tuber sale

We had originally hoped to launch the next sale at the end of August, but a few things have slowed us down. Some of our small team of growers have been unwell, and the winter weather hasn’t made things any easier. Like many of you, we’ve noticed that colds and coughs linger longer these days!

We’re still finalizing stock numbers and will hold the next sale once pre-sale orders have been fulfilled. This timing ensures we can first take care of our pre-sale customers, offering substitutes, refunds, or rooted cuttings where certain varieties are unavailable, and helps prevent stock from running out too quickly in the next round of sales. Hi Dahlia Lo❤️erz!

We will close the pre-sale on Monday 30th June 2025 and will reopen the shop around late August to Early September. 
This will be around when the tubers start eyeing up and we will have more assured numbers per variety. Depending on how storage of tubers went, we will have more stock available for some varieties and hopefully enough for most varieties to go around. We will contact you should any variety fail to store properly with how you’d like to proceed. Take care and stay safe & Warm till then.
