Dahlia As pictured – Last minute entries for 2026
‘AC Dark Horse’ is an electrifying, award-winning giant semi-cactus “dinnerplate” dahlia hybridized by Ken Greenway in 2009. It is globally renowned for its massive, dramatic presence, yielding huge, double blooms that can reach an incredible 20 to 25+ cm (8–10+ inches) in diameter. The flowerhead boasts a striking “frizzy” starburst of pointed, spiky petals saturated in a vivid magenta-purple or deep cerise pink, sharply contrasted by frosty, luminous white tips and a silvery-violet underside.

Dahlias should be planted after the risk of frost has passed and will continue to bloom from early summer until mid-autumn. For optimal growth and flowering, choose a sunny spot to plant the tubers, as Dahlias thrive in full sun.
